The Super Bowl that left Georgia sad and speechless for a week...

Dear Loves,

This 51st Super Bowl for sure it will be remembered for a long time... Nothing about it was expected or close to the predictions that almost every fan of the Falcons made prior to it... Sadly it didn't work the way it was supposed to or to be more correct : I should say - the way we really wished and we want it to work and end...The one thing I will remember the most - was the excitement that was building up after every game that Falcons won in the season and it was bringing them closer to the Vince Lombardi's shiny trophy🏆...but it wasn't close enough as we all know now... It was refreshing to see a state come together and cheer up together without the need to bring politics and race in the mix for a change... it felt good as it lasted ...but at least it happened ... and I was part of it...

Oh, dears... your mama is not your typical Bulgarian nor American woman ( which by now, since she moved here long time ago... she should be more Americanized...but that didn't happen yet... btw - now Lenny's song will stay in my head for a while)... anyway ...back to what I was saying - Gergana is something else, and we all agreed that you can't put her in any other category but only in her very own category that is separate from every other woman in this planet... this includes her cooking too - she is in somewhere in between with lots on the moment experimenting.... and probably that is what is making her dishes different ....

This year for the Super Bowl, I decided to do snacks and watch the game like everyone else and have that experience for once... My apologies - but I fed you, kids with a semi junk food that apparently as I expect it - it tasted good, since nothing was almost left afterwards...

My simple menu was :

Cocktail sausages/ smokies - slow cooked in Grandma's Becki's special recipe sauce - made with:

12 oz. bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce and

10 oz. of Grape Jelly (any brand of your choice)

Both added to three 1 pound bags of smokies

I put all the ingredients in the slow cooker and kept them warm until the last smokies were gone and placed in a better places...😉

Tater tots - (and of course you can't eat tater tots without asking everyone around you if you can have some of their tots with the voice of Napoleon Dynamite's , because it won't be the same if you don't say it since that is one of our family favorite movies of all times )

There's no much to say about how to cook tots - since I use frozen ones - cooking instructions are on the back of the package and they are served with ketchup, mustard ...or luitenitsa ...

My famous guacamole salsa - which I'm very proud of the way I learn to make it and turned out to be the best guacamole salsa in the town...Here is what you need:

4 ripe avocados

1 or 2 jalapeños / seeds removed and chopped /

1 small chopped red onion

and my secret weapon (well ...not so secret anymore)

1 pack of guacamole mix from Concord Foods

Mix all the ingredients and put in the refrigerator for at least 30 - 40 minutes to cool. Serve with your favorite corn chips and salsa. 🌶🍽

Да Ви е сладко!

Bon appétit!

Love,

Mom xoxo
